Before joining CMS, one of the key global law firms, RM Partners was founded by senior lawyers looking to transform and modernise the South African legal market, but who also understand the African and the international market. Joining CMS fulfills a key part our vision and provides an Africa platform which aligns directly our strategies of becoming a prominent African law firm.
Tariro Capital is a boutique professional services company that offers a wide range of services to businesses and entrepreneurs across sub-Saharan Africa. The business was formed in 2018 with the primary objective of pursuing corporate advisory and principal investment opportunities in sub-Saharan Africa.
Tariro’s corporate advisory offering is geared towards providing ad hoc business consultancy and capital raising services to Small and Medium Enterprises operating in the South African business landscape. Director
Financial markets professional for more than 20 years. CA (SA), MCom (Tax), CFACrispin serves as Director of the Phoenix Group of companies and has a successful 20-year track record as a financial market professional. He served at KPMG as audit manager and equity derivatives structurer and analyst for UBS. Crispin was Vice President of Equity Derivatives Sales and Structuring for Deutsche and achieved a Financial Mail derivatives analyst rating in 2005. He served as Head of Sales and Trading of Nedbank Capital’s Equity Derivatives and Prime Broking business where he was instrumental in rebuilding the Nedbank business.
Milton Osborn
Vice President
Milton is a corporate, funds and banking and finance lawyer with previous experience at international law firms in South Africa, the United Kingdom and China. He has over 20 years’ experience.
Milton has broad experience advising financial institutions and sponsors, in relation to acquisition finance, cross-border finance, private equity, structured finance, debt capital markets, derivatives, hedge funds, high yield debt, and securitisation Milton was admitted as an Attorney in South Africa in 1997 and as a Solicitor in England and Wales in 2003. Before joining the practice, Milton worked as senior counsel in the private equity practice of O’Melveny & Myers, London where he acted for private equity funds, sovereign wealth funds and hedge funds on various capital market, structured finance, acquisitions and private equity related transactions. He has experience in the European, Asian and African markets.
Andrew Wellsted
Vice President
Andrew is a highly regarded tax practitioner operating primarily in South Africa and Africa. He is a lawyer by training and specialises in tax and transactional structuring solutions.
His tax experience covers a broad range of transactions, with an emphasis on tax advisory relevant to the cross-border, banking and mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, upstream and downstream advisory for funds and black economic empowerment funds.
Andrew has significant tax litigation experience, and he has excellent relationships with numerous South African regulators. In the banking and financial service industries, Andrew has advised various financial institutions on financing transactions including project finance, structured finance and preference shares. He is specialised regarding the tax considerations applicable to advising on the structuring of derivatives, financial instruments and other structured products.
Motheo Tsatsi
Director
Motheo is a seasoned Investment Professional with over 6 years’ worth of experience. He holds a BCom Finance (UJ); BCom (Hons) Investment Management (UJ), CFA Level III Candidate.
Motheo worked as an analyst at 27four Investment Managers, before joining the Private Equity & Structured Investment Products team at the Public Investment Corporation. Motheo is particularly strong with valuations; financial modelling; financial analysis and has engaged with a multitude of corporate leaders; shareholders and institutions across the country.
Tafadzwa Muguto
Vice President
Tafadzwa is a financial markets expert who has garnered most of his experience particularly in the alternative asset class. He holds a BCom Economics and Finance (UCT), Foundation Programme In Private Equity (SAVCA & GIBS), Passed Level 1 of the CFA Exam (CFA Institute).
He is particularly strong with deal origination; business development; structuring investments; research; modelling and market analysis and has engaged with a number of banks, market experts, finance houses, industry specialists and other participants within the market.
Sijabulile Ndlovu
Associate
Sijabulile is a Project Finance Transactor, he holds a Bachelor of Business Science: Finance (UCT), Currently completing his MBA (Cranfield University, United Kingdom).
Sijabulile has four years’ worth of project finance experience and has extensive experience in renewable energy having previously been part of a team that successfully tendered for and reached financial close on solar PV and wind projects across Africa including the South African Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Programme (“REIPPP”). His skillset includes, inter-alia, financial forecasting and modelling, valuations, business analytics, due diligence activities, report writing and presentation, review and negotiation of legal documentation and tender preparation. This has led to multiple liaisons with various stakeholders including lenders, equity partners, off-takers, EPC and O&M contractors and external advisors.
